Just when you thought the grand ole US of A had the market cornered on crazy, comes this report from our neighbors to the north. Take that you smug French-Canadians. Yes, this means you Celine Dion.
VocalistBret Michaels wrote the song in response to a failed love affair with a Los Angelesstripper. Poison had been playing at a cowboy bar called “The Ritz” in Dallas, Texas. After the show, Michaels called the woman at her apartment and heard a man’s voice in the background. Heartbroken, Michaels wrote the song with an acoustic guitar in a laundromat
Bret Michaels with a stripper? I don’t believe it. I always thought of him as a man that liked his women with a good head on their shoulders. Or is it women that give good head and have shoulders.
That and Dee Snider says this song killed Metal:
“Hey man, it was them motherfuckin’ “power ballads”, you know! Brett is gonna kill me for saying this but “Every Rose” completely killed the metal in the pop metal scene man. All of a sudden, all the heavy metal rock bands got rid of their distortion pedals and went fuckin’ acoustic.”
Yeah. If it weren’t for power ballads this would stay popular for ever
